“One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about my course is the variety of perspectives I’ve been exposed to. My seminars and lectures have been filled with thought-provoking discussions, healthy disagreements, and opportunities to learn from people with completely different experiences and viewpoints. Those conversations have challenged the way I think and helped me grow both academically and personally.
Beyond academics, Exeter is an incredibly student-friendly city. Everything is conveniently located, and the city centre has pretty much everything you need, from cute cafes and study spots to grocery stores and shopping areas.
What has made my experience even better is the support available to students. Whether it’s wellbeing services, regular university check-ins, personal tutors, or events organised by the Student’s Guild, there is always someone willing to help. The Guild’s events, in particular, are a great way to meet new people, get involved, and build friendships, especially when you’re new to university life.
If I could give one piece of advice to new students, it would be this: don’t be afraid of being bad at something new. University is the perfect place to try things you’ve never done before, step outside your comfort zone, and learn through experience. Nobody arrives with everything figured out, and some of the best opportunities come from simply being willing to give something a go.”
