“My course has supported my future career as it has set me up with many different skills I will need in the workplace. For example, through group projects I have learned leadership, collaboration, and communication skills. I have also had the opportunity to learn transferable skills such as research and analysis, time management, and problem-solving. Additionally, because of classes I have taken such as Business Analytics and a Python coding course I took through the Entrepreneurship society, I have gained skills in coding which I think will be invaluable later in my career. Furthermore, my Spanish will be very useful in my graduate job as the company I will be working for has many clients in both Spain and Latin America!
Furthermore, I have used the career zone for support in finding internships and a graduate job, including their CV writing workshops which were very helpful!
Through the Global Leaders Expedition I had the opportunity to go to Porto, Portugal at the start of my 2nd year. During this trip we got paired up with 4 different companies in Porto and created presentations to tackle a problem each business was facing. My group was partnered with COFCO international and we worked with two of their employees over the course of a week to tackle their issue of wanting to share their culture and core values with employees and stakeholders. We also attended different lectures and workshops on leadership and teamwork; many of the skills I learned from these sessions I will take with me into my professional life.”
